Overview 

Sanhe City, Hebei Province, deployed 200 ClairEye-iSeries AI traffic sensors across major intersections to enhance traffic management and optimize signal control. The system’s advanced AI capabilities, real-time data output, and ultra-low power consumption made it ideal for addressing the city’s complex traffic demands. 

Key Objectives 

- Real-Time Monitoring: Detect vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians accurately. 

- Adaptive Signal Control: Optimize traffic signals based on real-time flow. 

- Event Detection: Identify incidents like congestion, accidents, and illegal reversing. 

- Energy Efficiency: Operate sustainably with less than 3 watts per unit. 

System Configuration 

- Units: 200 sensors installed at urban and suburban intersections. 

- Detection: Vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and events (e.g., fog, fire, accidents). 

- Communication: Ethernet and optional 4G/5G for data transmission. 

- Power: PoE (Power over Ethernet). 

Implementation 

- Sensors were mounted on traffic light poles and roadside structures, with 12mm lenses for up to 150 meters of coverage. 

- Detection zones were customized for each intersection, and the system adapted to poor lighting and weather conditions using WDR and strong light suppression. 

- Real-time data was integrated with the city’s traffic management platform, enabling adaptive signal control to optimize traffic flow. 

Results 

- Traffic Flow: Average waiting times reduced by 25%, and peak-hour congestion decreased by 30%. 

- Safety: Pedestrian and cyclist detection reduced accidents by 20%, while real-time incident detection minimized delays.
